Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

my movie partner- freedy prajitna

Was studying with Freedy at Starbuck Cathy today when Freedy got tempted to see what movies were on.

This was the dialogue between us when he came back from the ticket counter.

F: "I think Facture is a good movie"
F: "Its $7.50"
G: "Well, I don't feel like spending money today but if you really want I may just consider watching it"
(Pause for 10 seconds as we seemingly resumed back to our revision)
F: Took out 2 tickets from his pocket "Actually I bought the tickets le :D"

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

But the movie went well. Anthony Hopkins' acting was superb! Gave me the chills everytime he smiles in the movie.

In any case, just wanna take time to introduce Freedy as a great movie partner you can find.

Some of the movies I can recall watching with him:

National Treasure
Cinderella Man
Constantine
Passion of Christ
Mr & Mrs Smith
Batman: The Beginning
Kingdom of Heaven
The Lakehouse
The Covenant
The Departed
Death Note 1 & 2
Fracture

Next movie which is a must watch: Spiderman 3
Also can't miss: Harry Potter and the Phoenix's Order

Why some movies attract me:

Some of them are due to the plot:
SAW, DeathNote, LOTR

Some of them due to the enchanting actors and actresses:
Cinderalla Man- Russell Crowe & Renee Zellweger, The Departed- Leonardo DeCaprio & Jack Nicholson, The Lakehouse: Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock, Fracture- Anthony Hopkins

Some because of their societal/cultural implications:
Paradise Now, The Soong Sisters

Some due to the familiarity of their plot:
Spiderman1 &2, Harry Potter Series, Xmen1, 2 & 3

Others, due to simply a spur of the moment:
The Covenant

my shepherd- shirley melinda

Celebrated my shepherd's "18th" birthday last night.

Here's something about her:

To me, she is not just a youth pastor, a powerful worship leader or a great teacher of the Word.
Shirls has been a real wonderful God-given person in my life.

As shared during dinner last night, Shirls is someone who I will approach to share my joy and burdens with. Sometimes I feel like she's my "verbal vomit trashbin"...

She is a really good listener, and everytime when I confide in her, I simply felt UNDERSTOOD.
I think she is someone who knows how exactly how to handle her sheeps. Even Eelee agrees with that. She is empathetic and extremely sensitive to those around her, yet not doing it in an overboard manner. She is loving yet firm in nurturing her flock and strives to instill strong biblical foundations upon the life of those around her.

Thanks Shirls for trusting me so much in my leadership even though many times even I myself have doubts in my capabilities. Thanks for the aids in days when I was really poor. Thanks for all the teachable moments with you. :)

Thanks for being so real and sincere to those around you. Indeed you're irrevocably shirls!~

my hair cut on tuesday

Was pretty tensed up during the exam period. So the kind sisterhood of Eevoon, Debbie and Gwen brought me to a hair-cut in an attempt to de-stress... >_<

Had a great time catching up with Jon Tay and Matthias. Treasure the two of them so much in my life.

Listening to a song in my heart since last night:

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich"
Because of what the Lord has done for us
Give thanks

detoxication

detoxicating my mind...

clear: faithlessness
replace with: faith and trust

clear: insecurities
replace with: security in the One and Only

clear: doubts
replace with: truth

clear: anxiety
replace with: peace

This song is ringing so deeply in my soul now:
(Try meditating on the lyrics... they make so much sense...)

How could I live without You
How could I survive without Your love
Without Your touch
You're the One who heals me
And cleanses my heart
And set me free

Now I come right before You
With my hands lifted up
And my heart humbly bow at Your work on the Cross
As You hung there and die You were paying the price for my life
For my life

For Your love
Is higher than the mountains
Is deeper than the seas
All I want is You in my life
No one else
Can satisfy my soul
Can make me feel this way
Only You Lord
Only You

I realised...

Been through some rough patches through the past few days...

A few things I realised about myself:

1) I think I really love all my sheeps alot

2) I need to acknowledge more of God as the Chief Shepherd

3) I have some unresolved feelings from the past to handle

4) I don't exactly handle pressure as well as I ought to

A few things I realised about God:

1) He is patience in moulding the lives of people including mine

2) He understands and identifies with me

3) He makes and allows things to happen for a reason and purpose

4) He walks through the darkest valley with me

5) He is faithful to bring me eventually to where He wants me to be

He is one I can place my trust and commit my life unto. Thank You Jesus.

Thanksgiving for Easter

So many things to be thankful for Easter this year.

First, to thank God for God.
Still can't fathom the mystery of His love even till today.
I can only say "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Seccond, to thank God for those who crossed the line of faith yesterday.
We have 17 converts in total for NE! Whoohoo!

Luke 15:10
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

Third, to thank God for my wonderful team.

Yihui, thanks for toiling hard despite your hectic JC life. Appreciate your excitement and passion for God and people. Thanks for all your jokes that brought great fun into the team and my life. Finally we're seeing growth in NEA! Let's see a great work happening in all the schools in AMK and go for 50! :)

Siewluan, thanks for your consistent life in God and for bringing so laughter to the group. Thanks for your constant support and committment in NE, since the days in St Nicholas till now. Utilise your gift of faith well sister. God will use you to make a statement among the youths.

Debbie, thanks for supporting me and offering this wonderful friendship in Christ for the past few years. You have been a really good steward of God's flock and I've witnessed your growth too. Really humbled by your yearning for growth in NEE during this Easter. God will add more upon your life so that you can be a greater blessing to others.

Sunny, so grateful to God for your life. Think you've been through quite alot since your school days in SA. God has been faithful and good in your life. Really impressed by the work God is doing in SA through you. Your desire for God and love for His people has allowed Him to sharpen you to be a warrior in His kingdom. Be that key player in God's kingdom.

Chantel, really admire your spirit of passion and conviction. Wanna tell you that you are a strong pillar not just in your group but also in NE. You are a great example for the rest (esp sisters) to follow. I really think God can use you greatly given that you continue in such fervent and zeal for Him. Be part of the leaders to see 50 J1s coming to past!

Freedy, think we have come a long way. Your hunger for God's Word is contagious. You have displayed great maturity in many aspects of your life. Really impressed by the efforts you're putting in at home to be a salt and light. I think God has placed you as a key leader to lead the guys. Utilise your strengths even as you allow the continual guidance of the HS in your life.

Ruiyong, I really think you are a really pastoral leader. Witness your love for your people. I think they love you alot too. Your simplicity in Christ and zeal for His people have indeed brought you far from where you were to where you are now. God will bring you further. Expand your vision for God. Be ambitious in this people-business that He has entrusted you with.

Jon Tay, it's been ssoooooooo long! Thanks for being such as good friend to me. Think you are someone who truly knows me inside out. Enjoy the chats with you. Think you've displayed mature thinking through your everyday living. So glad to see that God is doing some work in your family, esp with your brother Yu Han. God will nurture you in His ways and use you greatly in the ground that He places you on.

Layling, thanks for staying faithful and supportive throughout the past few months that I've worked with you. Appreciate your friendship and partnership in Christ! Think you have shown your desire in loving God and to honor Him with your life. Witness growth in you and your teachability too.

Thank you guys...

Handphones VS Bible

Wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones.

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it

What if we flipped through it several times a day

What if we used it to receive messages from the text

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it

What if we gave it to kids as gifts

What if we used it as we traveled

What if we used it in case of an emergency

I was thinking on my way home, got touched by the spirit, so I wrote this so you can hear it. Its just something to think about

Something to make you say hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and where is my Bible?

Impressed...

Really impressed with this youth organisation in Singapore. Hope to arrange a meet up with their staffs to gather more information for the Youth Center next year which Hope Centre is setting up in NE.

Really think that our church will and can do better. MM is definitely one great channel to attract youths.

In any case, thought I would wanna share more about my involvement in the upcoming Youth Center. I'm feel so glad and privileged to be part of the sub-committee for it. Youth is my passion. Especially for youths-at-risks and delinquents. I think this is something God is placed deeply in my heart. I have my convictions and excitement towards the new Youth Center. I want to make it a good one. There are many youth programs out there but not many are impactful. What we need are programs that are relevant and attractive to the adolescents, and programs which can touch the core of people, making solidistic influence upon their lives.

However, my greater conviction still remains- that Jesus is the ultimate and greatest solutions to all mankind. That's why I take pleasure in the role I play in church. Influencing youths with the Word of God is the most promising and key factor for their lives' transformation. I see the value of my ministry. And this coming Easter will be a great time for people to finally encounter their Maker and to realise their reason of existence. Few more days to Easter. Let's do it!

This week is gonna be real exciting!~ Arranged with my team to meet at RC to do Easter eggs for our people on Thursday evening. Friday we're gonna have our PM at 11am before 'chionging' for Jesus! Saturday after service the whole NE will be heading down to Sentosa for a great time of district outing!~

Once again, life in Jesus is just so exciting.

Prophecy Session with Peter Truong

Had a prophecy session with Peter Truong today during ULM. I'm recording this down for future references and as a constant reminder for myself.

Prophectic Message from David Ong:
Psalms 119:105-
Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light for my path"

For me to always ensure that I have God's Word with me, be it bringing the Bible wherever I go, or maybe it's time to memorise more verses and believe at the darkness moment of my life, I will not be afraid, because the Word of God shall be with me.

Prophectic Message from Peter Truong:
Heb 11:6-
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

God will bless me as I follow and seek Him. God is the reward of those who seek Him. God will reward me with peace, joy, strength, character and many other blessings. God is the rewarder of those who seek Him.
