Peter's Birthday Celebration

Went to Chomp Chomp yesterday for a celebrative evening with Peter. Thanks Yihui for organising the whole event. Besides having my team + Dingchuen in joining the occasion, Peter's ex-sheeps Desmond and Weilun came down too. Daniel Leow and Junhuang joined in soon after as our guest appearance.

You might think the night ended off in a usual plain manner. But thankfully it didn't end off just like that. 2 of Peter's ex-classmates came to join us at Liquid Kitchen towards the end of the rounding off. Jon Tay came down via cab straight after his precious book out (Peter don't you feel honored?) and Ghimkui came down too!!! You should have been there to see the expressions on Peter's face when I unveiled the plastic bag that covered Ghimkui's face.

What an enjoyable night! I told weilun I felt so xin4 fu2 last night, looking at three of my friends who I know since they were Sec 1 and now all of them are already adults claiming a piece of their place in this world.

Was talking to Ghimkui on the bus ride back, listening to his story of how he desired for God and God in all his wisdom bought Ghimkui back to His arms. I'm truly encouraged to see the biblical maturity displayed through the speech of him. He ended off by saying he's hoping to rise up as a cell leader in his current church- that's awesome!!

What a sweet night, I nearly had a sleepless night again yesterday thinking about the eventful evening.

A year of reunion

This year has really been a significant one for me.

Thank God for bringing old friends I had back into my life. Their presence brings me good memories and collection of thanksgiving back to God for all that He's done.

Earlier this year I met Shi Chang at Plaza Singapura. He was my closest buddy straight after I received Christ in 1999. He was the one that accompanied me through during the times when I had to go through a tough time of parental objection to my faith. He was the one that came over my house to stay0ver on that night when I first revealed my conversion to my mum.

Weeks ago I managed to relocate Riswanto online thru msn. To know more about him, read my previous blog entry earlier on.

Then I added Winghei into my friendster list. He was the one who sat beside me in my sec 4 class. I always bully him. Think he's the only person on earth that I could successfully bully. It was him who helped me much in my maths. Remembered that we were the only two person from 4S2 to get the good service award by the school in 2000. He helped two of my sheeps in their studies a few years back too.

Then on saturday while I was teaching about taking ownership of NE and on the need to give our best to our sheeps, I mentioned about my first sheep Ghim Kui. The last time I ever mentioned about his name was at least 2 years ago. And at least 3-4 years it had been since I last saw him. To my wonderful surprise, straight after the meeting when I was rushing down to J8 to watch The Lake House, I met him at the S11 bus-stop near NE RC!!! My goodness! He's no longer the sec 1 boy i know when I took care of him in 2000. He's now serving in army, in OCS. Wow... Really thankful to see that he's attending another church faithfully for the past 2 years. I'm catching up with him tonight together with Jon Tay after his book out. In any case, here's a pic of Ghim Kui my first sheep:

The last night when I logged in my email, I was notified that Daryl left a msg in my friendster. Daryl was the other guy in the band of brotherhood with me and Riswanto throughout our sec 3 and 4's life. Here's what he said in friendster:

It was fantastic. Salvation visited NE- we had 44 converts in total in the month of July! That's almost a sub-district size!!! Looking back at all that we have achieved, I must say that workers from NE truly deserves tremendous appreciation for their labor in Christ. I am so proud of them all from the bottom of my heart. Thanksgiving to God for giving me such an awesome privillege to serve alongside with them.

I am truly thankful for all that has been achieved. However there remains a sense of holy discontentment in me and I believe in the hearts of many people in NE too. Much has been done, but much more awaits to be achieve too! We are still looking onward for breaking 180 by end Aug. We are still waiting in expectation for the 100 converts. Retention and star-bursting. God help us.

NE Event: Rendezvous by the Beach


Had a enjoyable time at Changi Beach after last week's service. Had a great time of games led by Yihui and her team. Had best of the best too, where we found out that Melvin had been transformed by God to become gentle and demure... Hehe... Thanks Rachel for preparing the food too. Had great and nice bee hoon plus BBQ food. Thank God for our BBQ neighbor too who came to our rescue when our charcoal didn't obey us and we didn't have any fire starters. God bless them... What a long time since we gather in district for a time of relaxation and fun and fellowship. Think the last time we had one it was earlier this year for our Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner at Marina Bay.

CL Retreat: D.E.E.P.E.R


Had our CL Retreat after NE Event. Had an eventful day you might think. Anyway we did something special tis time round. We greeted the CLs and CLAs with a room filled with candles and soothing worship songs. Greeted each of them with a hot towel and gave each of us time to just relax and indulge ourselves in the holy ambience, talking and listening from God. Next we had our thanksgiving ceremony. Wrote down our thanksgiving points unto a paper and burn it up as a sweet aroma of worship to God. Then came sharing time and after that the whole night was a free and easy night. Went to the 24hr Serangoon Mac to chill out with the rest and went to rachel's house to bunk in for the night with the NEA dudes. Next morning we ended our retreat by visiting ChaoChou in jalan kayu to try the 4bucks porridge buffet.

180 Degree Change. 100 converts for Him alone.
